I grew up on a farm on Exmoor and after living in London, America and other UK cities, I returned back to my Exmoor roots.
I graduated with a 1st Class BA Hons degree in Ceramic Design from the Central St Martins College of Art in 1989. I then completed an MA at the Central St Martins specialising in Ceramic Illustration.
Techniques
I work with red terracotta clay, generally using coiling and slab building techniques. I 'paint' using slips, underglaze colours and scraffitto drawing. After firing the pieces twice, I then apply metallic lustres and fire once again.
